Stefano Maceo Carloni was born in Terni in 1965.
He lived and worked in Naples before moving to Milan in 1995. He currently works there as an engineer.
In 1997 he began nurturing his passion for photography: major authors’ exhibitions and books, technical magazines, handbooks and constant practice are the tools he uses to learn photography’s techniques and composition by using both colour and b/w.
Several pictures of his – portraits, reportage and landscapes – were published between 2001 and 2003 by the Italian magazine “Progresso Fotografico”.
In 2002 the German magazine “Adesso” used some of his landscapes and portraits takes in the hills around Parma for a feature on this area.
In the summer of 2003 a selection of his photos on movement was presented at Aci Trezza under the title ”Eros metropolitano” in the context of the collective exhibition “Alla riscoperta dell’eros” organized by the Akkuaria association.
In 2003 his research on staircases was published by “Immagini foto-pratica”, while in 2004 some of his photographs were selected for the production of promotional material.
That same year his work on looks was featured in “Séquence Fnac”, a video exhibition presented in all the Fnac shops around the world.
In January 2005 he presented his first solo exhibition, “Personali solitudini”, at the Hoepli gallery in Milan, also published on the site akkuaria.com.
In the summer of 2005 the magazine “Immagini foto-pratica” published some of his photos to illustrate a psycho-analytic reading of photography.
In October 2006 the Hoepli gallery of Milan presented his exhibition “manifesti e vetrine”.
In April 2007 his exhibition “madre figli” was presented at Cava Dei Tirreni (Salerno).
In September 2008 he presented a solo exhibition entitled “Anime in Movimento” at the Hoepli gallery in Milan, also published by the site akkuaria.com. and the Blog effe0.
In June 2010 the well-known magazine “B&W magazine” selected for an Excellence Award the portfolio “Anime in Movimento” . |
